Went out to BES Racing today to pay for the motor.Motor Blown - Page 2 Wow

Got some build sheets and paperwork on the cam specs etc.I had
forgotten the specs on the cam I had in there. It is a custom grind Comp
Cams 237/239 114 LSA and a .595 lift.

The motor was crated up and waiting on the truck to pick it up.It will be at the shop before 10:00 in the morning.Motor Blown - Page 2 Fing02

Talked to them about the break in procedure. They used Pennzoil Diesel
oil, 15W 40 for the fill and we need to finish the fill when installing
the motor. All I could find was Mobil 1 conventional 15W40 Diesel oil
which they said would be fine.Supposedly has more zinc and other
additives for break in.I should run that for 500 miles and switch to my
Amsoil Dominator Racing Oil synthetic 10W 30.

Got my plugs ,wires ,sleeves ,billet separators and Water Wetter down to the shop today.

Thought I would post the time frame on the motor build.Pretty quick since the pistons had to be custom made.

It broke on the night of SEPT 17th.Didn`t know the extent of the damage until the next day FR the 18th.

BES picked it up on the 23rd but couldn`t get to it until the 30th to
tear it apart.Ordered custom pistons to be made on OCT 5th.They said 3
weeks to make the pistons.Motor was finished on the 29th.Not bad IMO on
the time frame.

Five weeks and a day ,but it sat for a week until they could tear it down.

Well, ran into a little trouble today on the motor. The Harland Sharp RR
won`t fit under the stock valve covers.

Got the spacers coming overnight from Angelucci Manufacturing. Now need to find the bolts to fit them.Always something
