Motor Blown Empty
PostSubject: Motor Blown   Motor Blown EmptyFri Sep 18, 2009 11:22 am

Well last night I took the truck out and heard a loud ticking and clattering under the hood.Took it to my buddie`s shop .This morning I get the call that a valve spring broke and caused the valve to fall into the #4 cylinder.Won`t know the extent of the damage until the motor comes out and the engine shop looks at it.Total rebuild time.

Engine is toast.Valve in the bottom of the motor.Have to see if the heads are OK.My buddy is pulling the motor today /tomorrow.Going to have http://www.besracing.com/ do the motor. They did my 396 stroker in the SS and they do the NCWTS motors as well as some of the world record holding drag cars.

Getting a total rebuild. If the heads are Ok I`ll reuse them.If not I`ll go with the Strikers http://jmcylinderheads.com/?page_id=61 Jesels,Crower rr, rods and valvetrain forged pistons, etc.

Not stock.I have the Stage III Viper heads,236/242 cam and all the supporting bolt ons , headers, cat delete 3" mids ,Magnaflow, Hennessey TB etc.

Don`t know why it dropped a valve.

Got a call from the builder today and the motor is finished.:wow:

They are crating it up tomorrow and I should have it TU or WE. Should have it installed by late in the week.

I scheduled my tuning session with Joe @ PBJ Performance in St.Louis for NOV 25th.

I`m a happy man!:
